Garden Route Cannabis Cup, 2024 · 11 August 2024 · Fairy Knowe Backpackers, Wilderness, George, Western Cape
The Garden Route cup is one of the more established fixtures on the South African calendar, run in the Western Cape in the depths of winter — which, for outdoor growers on this coast, is well after the season's flower has been cut, dried and cured. It has moved venue more than once, and 2024 took it to Wilderness, outside George.

What a placing here is worth
A cup result describes one batch, judged once, by the people who happened to be judging. It is a good reason to look at what a grower is doing now; it is not a promise about a jar in front of you today, which may be a different season, a different cut and a different cure.
If you want the fuller version of that argument, see Cannabis cups, and what a win actually means — and if you would rather learn to score a jar yourself, the five-minute method is the place to start.
